Images Don't Help You Rank on Google
Although the images that you use on your web pages can tell a story as much as the words do, they don't help with your Google rankings.
This has been confirmed by Google's John Mu:
There is no automatic effect from adding images.

I understand that nobody likes looking at blog posts and feeling like theyโre reading an essay.
I also appreciate that a picture paints a thousand words.
Images can also help social sharing and cut through any language barriers, so I appreciate their importance.
However, you don't need them to rank on Google.
